- Requirements
- ------------

- This program requires an IBM compatible computer, with an EGA or higher
- monitor, a hard disk, a mouse and a 3½" disk drive.
-
- To install the program do the following:
-
- make a directory on your hard drive to hold the program, eg:
-
- MD C:\DR-FOX
-
- put the Dr. Fox disk into your 3½" disk drive and copy all the files to
- the new directory you have created on your hard drive, eg:
-
- XCOPY A:\DR-FOX C:\DR-FOX /S
-
- move into the DR-FOX directory, eg:
-
- CD DR-FOX
-
- Run the program by issuing the command:
-
- DR-FOX
-
- There is an INSTALL.BAT file that copies the files as above, supplied on the
- disk.
-
- You might also find it useful to edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to add the
- DR-FOX directory to your path so that you can run the program from other
- directories.
-
- If you do not want to install the program on your hard disk it can be run
- directly from the floppy disk, but is a bit slow as it has to read and write
- to the disk quite a lot and this is a relatively slow operation.

- This public domain program lets you store and analyse football results. It
- covers the following competition:

- The Football Association Carling Premiership.

- Unibond League Premier Division
- Diadora Football League Premier Division
- The Bell's Scottish Football League

- You will also receive a 16 page manual and be able to obtain updates.

- The program is very user friendly, making full use of the pull down menus,
- command buttons, alert boxes, scroll bars, etc.
-
- It is supplied with all of last seasons results, and all of the current
- season's fixtures. It is also supplied with all the season's results up to
- the end of 1994.

- The program allows many different ways of analysing the results.
-
- It can produce a statistical analysis of any team's performance, including
- Consecutive Wins, Draws, Losses and Score Draws. Runs of games without a Win,
- Draw, Loss or Score Draw. Best and Worst results. A graph of League Position
- History or goals scored and conceded. Latest results and current League
- Record.

- It lets you analyse any fixture, by displaying a statistical analysis of both
- teams making up the fixture.
-
- It can display any team's matches in chronological or opponent order. This
- lets you find the date and result of any match very easily.
-
- It can display league tables on any selected date.
-
- It lets you see the distribution of each type of result in any division. This
- lets you spot the divisions most likely to produce more home wins, away wins
- or draws.
-
- It can make forecasts of results by using a user defined formula based on
- previous results. It lets you see how good your chosen prediction formula is
- for any particular date. It displays lists of most likely draws, home wins
- and away wins based on the formula, along with the actual result, if known.

- It can cope with teams being disqualified or having points deducted from their
- league record.

- Finally, there is a Team Search facility which lets you find out which
- division any chosen team is playing in during the seasons covered.

- What's new for 1994
- -------------------

- This PC version is new for 1994, it is based on the highly successful version
- which has been available on Atari home computers since 1989.

- A Goals Graph has been added under the Analyse Team and Fixture options.
-
- The option to use Club Nicknames or Sponsors rather than their real names has
- been added. (See Names Preference under the Goodies Menu) Will McEwans Lager
- win the title? Will Walkers Crisps be relegated?

- The full program has also been amended to cope with the extra division in
- Scotland and the new points awarded for a win.
-
- The data files have also had to be amended to ensure compatibility between the
- Atari and PC versions.
